General Information for Students

What is my Dream?

  •  I dream of how to make my parents happy and my brothers and sisters proud of me...

  • I dream of being a good member of our community and a good Australian...

  • I dream of becoming a dancer, a singer, a fashion designer, a doctor, a lawyer, a salesperson...

Who will be eligible?

  • If your are a high school student and 

  • You live in the Fairfield City Area or are attending a school located in the Fairfield City Area.
     

 How do I send in my essay?

You can submit soft copy of your essay (between 1,000 to 1,500 words)

  • Either by email to MyDream@CabramattaNet.com.au;

  • Or copying your essay to a floppy disk and sending it by mail to:
    PO Box 145, Bonnyrigg Plaza, NSW 2177.

When will I send it?

Any time between August 6 and September 7, 2001.
Each of the first twenty essays which pass Round One will receive an "Early Entry Prizes" valued  more than $20.

Be early and reward yourselves an Early Entry Prize.

 

What are the rewards

  • The first 20 essays which pass the initial assessment will be awarded an "Early Entry Prizes".

  • The 20 top essays will be chosen for posting on the Internet and each one will be awarded a consolation prize.

  •  There will be three cash prizes for each category:

1st prize    $500
2nd prize   $300
3rd prize    $200

 

Who will do the judging?

A panel of at least twelve distinguished persons will form the Judging Panel. They are:

  • Two teachers from each high school in the Fairfield Area;

  • Two from the Cabramatta August Moon Organising Committee; and

  • One from Vietnam Information Services Pty Limited.

How will my essay be judged?

  • Entries will be selected on the basis of content and style.

  • There will be no correspondence between you and the Judging Panel and decisions by the Judging Panel are final.

 

 

Will I be recognised for my work?

  • If you submit the essay, your hard work will be recognized by a "Participation Certificate".

  • If your work is chosen to be posted on the Internet, it will be recognized by a "Achievement Certificate" and a consolation prize.

  • And of course, if you win a prize, you will be awarded a "Prize Winning Certificate" and a cheque for the value of the prize won.

Six Prize-winning essays will be translated into five most common languages and be posted on the Internet: www.CabramattaNet.com.au.

 

Who are organising the Competition?

The "My Dream" Competition is organized by Vietnam Information Services Pty Limited (VIS) with legal advice from Pham & Associates Lawyers.
