I woke up to
find the world all peaceful, no discrimination was going on,
and everyone was treated equally. There was no crime going
on because everyone had learnt to love and respect each
other.
This is what I
want our world to be like, but it can't happen because there
will always be someone out there who will break the Justice
rules and ruin it for everyone. I think it would be great to
be able to live in a discrimination free world, where
everyone is treated equally and fairly. A land where movie
stars and slaves are all treated equally. After all we're
all humans. It freaks me out at times to hear that people
are discriminating other people because of their skin
colour. That is just ridiculous! Why are some people judging
others by their skin colour when it is the personality that
counts? Racists people are mean beyond mean! They don't
consider how the people that they are discriminating are
feeling. Just imagine if you were that person that was
discriminated because you were different. Everyone has the
right to make his or her own opinion and be respected for
it. I also dream of a world of freedom. It hurts me to feel
that our people in Vietnam are stuck in a land of Communism.
They have
little freedom to do what they want. No one deserves to
lose their freedom and their rights. Everyone has
their rights to say what they feel. Last year, I was
learning about government in class and I had the privilege
to think of my own political party. It didn't take me long
to name my party. After two minutes of thinking 1
immediately declared that there was a new party running. A
party that would stand up for the rights of Justice, Freedom
and Peace. My political party was named Justice for All. I
had always dreamed of being someone important so I could
discuss my needs of a peaceful world. I discussed my laws
and answered questions of what I would do if I was Prime
Minister. Most of my class agreed with me so not long after
that I become the first female Prime Minister in Australia,
one that would stand up for the rights of Justice, Freedom
and Peace. My political party was considered very successful
and my teacher had congratulated me on my outstanding work.
The best award for me that was better than money could ever
offer was to see my peers treating each other equally, even
if it was now the rule for my class. It seemed that the
whole school was supporting me. My principal stuck up more
posters and other classes were using my name and rules for
their class. I felt proud and confident. I had made my dream
come one step closer. My peers may only be children but they
are the hope of our nation. My idea came from my Justice for
All speech, which I presented in Zone Public Speaking and
come second. In my speech I included a few points:
The oldest
child's problems.
If you are the
first child in your family you would understand what I'm
talking about. We always have to share our things with our
younger siblings. Even if it is something really important
and private, all our younger sibling has to do is cry and
you are made to give her/him the thing they want.
Women Problems
I'm probably
talking more to Asian Female's but I think it's unfair how
we have to do all the work. Face it, even if you're going to
marry a lovely husband you'll always have to do the harder
deal. For starters, we're the one that has to carry the
baby, cook, wash, clean etc. I could go on forever if I
listed down all the responsibilities that women had to do.
Discriminated
students
In every school
there are always students that are discriminated, simply
because they are different. Sometimes it is a matter that
some students are poor and others are rich. Children who are
poor have to suffer from the discrimination other students
give them. Other children are from different races and have
different beliefs. Even if teachers tell the students not to
discriminate others. This is still happening and it will
increase if we don't put a stop to it. It hurts me, that
children as young as four have already been discriminated
and this becomes worse for the child as they grow older and
it will eventually haunt their life. They would have lost
all their self‑confidence before they go to the outside
world, simply because of discrimination that they had to go
through in their school years. So now you know how much
damage discrimination can be even if it is only small.
What really
freaks me out the most is that everybody on this planet is
related to one another somehow because we all originated in
one place in the beginning. So anybody that discriminates
someone else is actually hurting his or her own
brother/sister. I've never actually been discriminated badly
but I was hurt when a boy called me a pesky Asian in my
school. I hated that boy for calling me names. I went home
and cried. It wasn't my fault that my background was Asian.
In fact when I thought about it I was privileged to be
Asian. A culture that existed such a long time ago and one
that I am very fascinated by. The Asian culture has a
fascinating history and courageous stories about their
heroes. Having an Asia background meant that I would be able
to speak two languages at once. I would be able to have a
wider choice in my future career. One day my dream will be
one step closer as I study politics and become the first
female Prime Minister. Hopefully Vietnam and every other
country in the world would soon become free from Communism.
Justice for All, I think it is a good idea, but we will have
to work some things out if we want our world to become a
place where there is Justice for All.
So if you're a
person out there that has been discriminated. Don't feel
down because you are someone special and don't let anyone
take that away from you. |
