My Dream
A Writing Competition For High School Students
in the Fairfield Area, Sydney, Australia

Tiniyana Huang- Consolation Prize

Being in my teenage years I have never been determined to begin fulfilling my dream. Maybe it was because I had constantly questioned myself about what my dream was. Like many teens the mixed emotion inside had always over-ruled my thoughts and determinations. I would sit for hours questioning myself, “Am I going to be a ‘nobody’?”

I would have never thought the risk of a relative’s life would motivate me and hopefully help me achieve my dream. I believed there are many who have a dream just like mine. Like me they will pursue this certain dream, but the answer to the questions “Why?” may be very well different.

As I waited beside the hospital bed my heart pounded like a drum that was out of control. “Had it not been found out earlier will I have seen her again?” I had constantly questioned myself with disbelief. Admitting many mistakes can be made but why such a big prices to pay for such a minor mistake? This triggered a signal for me to begin pursuing my dream.

Like many people I now have a dream. I can finally end the constant questioning inside me and see a clear vision of my dream.

My dream will be an index to my greatness. It is my goal and my hope of becoming a ‘somebody’, someone that can make a difference. My dream may not seem so significant to some but I feel that it is going to inspire me. My dream is going to be my guide to make a difference, for my family, my friends and the community.

My determination will help me achieve my dreams. My dream can determine the life or death of a certain person; their lives are in my hands. I can be classified as a ‘legal murderer’, yet, I may be thanked for being a savior. My dream will place me in a highly respected position. My dream will make me become an ‘angel’. I will become the healing hand of the community.

My dream can bring me sleepless nights and hectic days, but my motivation to achieve my dream will always pull me along. The achievement of my dream will bring pride, happiness and joy to my life and to those around me. Thus, I am not afraid to give up the good for the great.

My dream can lift me up to new horizons. It will broaden my knowledge about the realistic world around me. My dream will allow me to climb the highest mountains and swim in the deepest oceans to widen my view of the lives around me.

The achievement of my dream will demolish the miseries of many people and their emotions will be brightened by happiness.

My dream will place me in a position that will provide me with self-satisfaction. A self-satisfaction that states I have made a contribution. A contribution to the human lives, a contribution to my community, a contribution to our nation and a contribution to our world.

My dream will not only cure those who are ill but also give them inspiration and motivation to carry on. It is my desire to help those in need. To motivate those who are down. I will become the healing hand that will not only heal physically but also try to uplift people mentally.

As each year passes by, my knowledge will be deeper, my maturity will age and I will have completed yet another step on the ‘ladder of life’. As I pursue my dream my knowledge will be greater than before. Though the depth of knowledge to learn is endlessly long, on the path of pursuing my dream the depth of knowledge will have decreased because step by step I’ll reach my dream. My dream will give endless rewards that will include the development of my maturity and life.

Many dreams are constantly being shattered. The shattering of these dreams may be beyond the pursuer’s control. Many lives are lost and ruined before dreams come true. The achievement of my dream will discourage that to happen. I will mend the pains and build another bridge for these people to cross in order to pursue their dreams.

I am determined to not only fulfill my dream but continue on, to leap that extra step. I must apply the statement “ you must begin to walk before you can learn to run.” to help learn my lesson of life.

My dream will bring me numerous rewards these rewards are objects that money can not buy. These rewards are the purpose of pursuing and fulfilling my dream. These rewards are the reason why I have belief.

I have begun pursuing my dream from the moment I discovered it. It seems so out of reach, yet I believe it will come true for me. The light is at the end of the tunnel just waiting for me to reach it.

I will dedicate my life into pursuing my dream. I believe that despite what I may be classified as, my dream will place me in a highly respected position that will give me the desire to continue to improve what I have already achieved. I will continue to ‘strive and serve’ my community, my nation and the world.

My dream will widen my view. It will allow me to climb the highest mountains and give me the experience that is the purpose of my life.

To know that my dream will make a contribution in happiness in the lives of others and a contribution in making other dreams come true makes my dream worthwhile to be pursued.

A life with a dream is a life with a cause and like a chain reaction an effect is an outcome of a cause. My dream is my belief and I believe I can succeed. I believe that if you can dream it, visualize it and want it bad enough, it will happen! My dream is going to be fulfilled.

My dream is to be a doctor!
