A
project to support the 2002 August Moon Festival Committee
In conjunction with the 2002
August Moon Festival Committee, Vietnam Information Services
(VIS) via its
www.VietnameseInAustralia.com.au Website organizes the
Writing Competition for high school students in the
Fairfield/Liverpool Area.
Purpose of the Project
The Project aims to
stimulate high school students having positive thinking
about their future. The results will provide parents,
teachers and social workers some inside thoughts of our
youth. This is the first public writing contest of this kind
to be organised anywhere in Australia.
Competition Entries and Prizes
The contestants will be divided
into 2 groups: Junior (Years 7 to 10) and Senior (Years 11 to
12) high school students and there will be 3 prizes for each
groups: $500, $300 and $200 and consolation prizes for the
top 20 contestants.
The Competition began on
Monday, August 5 and will close on Monday, September 2, 2002.
Supporters and Sponsors
The project are strongly
supported by the 2002 August Moon Festival Committee and
over 30 individuals and commercial establishments.
Judging Panel
The Panel represents the
whole spectrum of our society. Members' backgrounds vary from a 30-year-old primary
teacher and a 36-year old computer expert to persons over 50
years old who are journalist, businessmen and high ranking
public officials.
