MY DREAM

My dream is a perfect dream, an ideal world, a UTOPIA.

Earth is a peaceful world, free of the horrors of wars, diseases and sicknesses.  Violence is, but a specter of the past, an evil phantom reduced to the dark shadows of its origin.  Racism no longer exists.  People aren’t judged for being dark skinned or fair, Asian, Lebanese, Russian, Indian or Pakistani appearance.  People are all equals, no poverty exists here.  Everyone is fairly treated whether they’re short or tall, fat or thin, shy or bold – everyone has equal rights.

Pollution does not exist on earth!  Technology has allowed us to keep our air clean, our waterways pure and our trees healthy. Due to the fact that resources are not damaging our planet and pollution has been eliminated, there is no greenhouse effect!  The Earth is in no immediate danger of losing its Ozone Layer.

Hunting has been erased from the memory of the human race.  Animals run, swim or crawl freely around the world. All meat is artificial and contains all the necessary proteins, fats and vitamins.    Nature will be preserved.  All natural wonders would be looked up at and people would say, “Wow the world is truly an amazing place.  We’re so lucky to have such a beautiful planet to live on.”  Animals are free to roam around the wonders as well as people.  Animals have the same rights as humans as well.  Pretty amazing if you ask me, the dreamer and creator of this fantasy.

Technology is so advanced; a gas that doesn’t create pollution runs transport.  Transport flies!  Cars hover and weave through and around buildings 300 storeys high.  These huge metropolises are home to billions of humans and other bizarre creatures.  Spacecraft take us to other worlds at a cost of pressing a few buttons.  These space ships travel at the speed of light.  Instead of phones, holographic projectors beam images of the speaker.  These could beam images to any position in the galaxy.  That’s right, the galaxy!

We have contact with aliens who also live on Earth.  They also have equal rights. Trades between the two races are common.  The aliens are not threatening, merely frightening, but only at first.  The aliens come from the planet Ainran.  They helped our planet become Utopia. In fact most of our technology came from them.  They are now part of our planet and society forever.  The aliens also introduced robotics to Earth.  These robots do many things for us.  They take on the roles of medics, scientist, translators,

taxi drivers and even shopkeepers!  Unfortunately these marvels of science and technology have made some humans particularly lazy.

Of course, some humans have avoided these technological advances and have started farming communities around the planet.  These people still use the sophisticated technology of the other people but they avoid robotics at all costs.  They farm many resources and some of these are sold to the cities.

Many resources are gathered from nearby asteroids.  Certain asteroids contain large concentrations of metals, ores, crystals and other substances. Huge mining facilities are built on asteroids, which are dragged into orbit around Earth.  This process is quite complex.  First, small scout teams (robots and people) are sent to scale the giant rock.  Reports are transmitted back towards a nearby resource centre.  Then a team of robots is sent to the area to begin mining.  Asteroids can last in mining for 40 years a square km!  A small moon orbiting Jupiter holds all the resources required on Earth.  All sorts of resources that may damage the Earth if used are taken from this small moon, now known as ‘secruoser’.  Luckily this moon has a really fast recovery rate.  This means that everything taken will appear again in 2 weeks.

In my dream wood comes from Earth still.  Only one tree has been cut down in this Golden Age.  The tree’s cells were then duplicated to give large quantities of wood.  This type of cloning is so advanced that none of the wood’s quality is lost at all!  The original wood is kept in the National Natural Museum.  It is now illegal to use true wood.

Another rare and special resource is Dolg, a rich, gold type of metal only found on Mercury.  Impossible to get you say.  No! With the new mercury D-CIA robots it is quite easy.  A small heat proof shuttle drops a team of droids onto the death globe and quickly leaves and orbits Venus so it dosen’t burn up.  The droids start mining quickly, as their circuits will fry up from the heat (over 700 c) in 2 weeks.  Many times these missions have failed destroying the droids and their shuttle.  A new model is currently being produced made of Dolg.  Dolg is 100% protected from the heat of mercury.

Our Earth has faced Armageddon many times before.  We now have super laser defense system which fires nuclear missiles at asteroids and meteors capable of wiping out Earth.  Of course, extremely big ones can only be knocked off course.

Another big part of my dream is the food.  There are so many different types of food now it’s incredible.  Everyone gets food for free and everyone shares.  Not one single living thing on the planet goes without food.  Not even a dog will be allowed to starve for two seconds.  Not even a blade of grass will go unwatered. This shows how much the beings care for each other all the time.  If this were true in our world today, it would be a perfect world.

Education is very easy in my dream.  As soon as a child is born he or she becomes a citizen.  As a citizen, at the age of 5 until the child is 18 all necessary information is downloaded into the brain.  Pretty cool if you ask me!  After this however they still have to go to University and study properly to get a job.  There are fewer jobs than before however, due to the fact that robots do lots of work.  If you get a good job, you are helping out the society.

This is the end of my dream.  Perhaps it is impossible.  A child’s fantasy.  Maybe I’ve completely lost it.  Well, whichever it is, it doesn’t change my dream at all.  My dream is what we should be.  What we want to be.  Not fighting and poverty, but the choice and right to be free.  I think, that deep down, everyone desires a utopia, probably nothing like mine.  I have only voiced what I think is a dream.  If peace and unity like this were a possibility at the moment, I’d be the happiest person in the galaxy. What if a Utopia like this really does exist? What if this is the world to come? We always want to be better, have more, to improve. Maybe some of us need to think about this, do we really want all of this stuff? Or should we just be happy with what we have, and try to make the best of it? Some of us would be better off with just a little bit more money (the poor anyway). Everyone would be better off without war. Maybe our dream is living with what we already have: a well-balanced world.
